We can't do everything, but we can all do something. Right now, the absolute most important thing that we each MUST do is contact our Dem senators and demand the following from each of them: *1. Deny a Quorum: In most cases if Republicans don't have 51 votes in the chamber, Democrats can walk out and shut down Senate business entirely. 2. Block Unanimous Consent: Object to every procedural shortcut, forcing Republicans to take the longest possible route for every step of the confirmation process. 3. Max Out Debate Time: Use all 30 hours of debate on Vought to expose Project 2025, Musk's Treasury takeover, and the funding freeze. 4. Delay and Disrupt: Force roll-call votes, quorum calls, and procedural delays to slow everything down. 5. Blanket Opposition: Democrats cannot continue to vote for Trump's other nominees, helping to install more MAGA loyalists into powerful positions in the federal government while this power grab continues. 6. No Business as Usual: This is a constitutional crisis. Democrats must abandon the old rules and fight with everything they have. *All current Senator phone numbers linked in comments. Just add 202-22 in front of the 5 digit number. Call yours, now. And then again tomorrow. If you're afraid to call, here's some useful things to know. I used to work in senate constituent services and took calls all day . -Your senator is greatly influenced by the opinion of their staffers, so be nice to them. -100 people calling and saying the same thing is REALLY powerful. Especially if it ties up the entire day. Taking the call, entering it into the data system, making notations for your boss, it's a whole process. -You don’t need to be an expert—just be clear, polite, and direct. Nobody is going to challenge you over the phone. -Call your senator from your state. They prioritize constituents over out-of-state callers.-If phone anxiety is a problem, write a script out or practice out loud before you call. I strongly encourage a phone call over an email- they carry much more weight and are harder to ignore.-Staffers know that you might be nervous when you call. We hear lots of shaky voices. We know it means that you aren't one of our usual callers and that this must be something significant if you are calling even though you are anxious. Let your anxiety be your friend here.

Subject: tipline of suppression, manipulation, or sidelining of science intended to protect public health and the planet.
It is HEATED Tip line addy using secure proton mail -- Emily is offering an interview to any federal employees and scientists. Here's Emily: substack: https://heated.world/about
HEATED is dedicated solely to polluter accountability, and SciLight is dedicated solely to scientific integrity. HEATED is run by Emily Atkin, a longtime climate and environmental journalist with a demonstrated track record of powerful storytelling and source protection. SciLight is run by Dr. Jacob Carter, an environmental scientist who has worked with federal scientists for over a decade to push back against instances of political interference.
Journalists have already started to report on some of the potential effects of this influence, thanks to courageous federal workers and scientists who have come forward as anonymous sources.
We believe these reports are only the tip of the iceberg—and that there are many attacks on science to come. That’s why HEATED and SciLight are opening a tipline for federal government employees to securely report industry and political interference in science and science-based decisionmaking processes.
We’re looking to hear from federal scientists and employees who believe they are witnessing the suppression, manipulation, or sidelining of science intended to protect public health and the planet.
Scientific integrity violations can come in many forms. They can come via direct order, like: Defunding programs, altering grant-making processes, censoring scientists, dismantling advisory committees, manipulating research that informs policy or regulatory decisions, overlooking peer-review processes, or removing data from public government websites.
But scientific suppression can also take more passive forms, like creating a hostile work environment for federal scientists. This can lead to self-censorship, reductions in workforce, or staff burnout.
We want to hear about it all—even if it’s something you believe is small. If you have doubt about whether your experience is important or not, we encourage erring on the side of disclosure. With enough sources, we hope to be able to identify patterns across agencies. You never know which snowflake will cause an avalanche.
