SOBE Concerned Citizens Joins Earth Day Celebration at Youngstown State University

SOBE Concerned Citizens (SCC) participated in Green Penguin Day, which is the name Youngstown State University gave to its observation of Earth Day, on April 17, 2025.

We educated Youngstown State University students and attendees about SCC's efforts to help our community protect itself from dangerous air pollution. SOBE Thermal Energy Systems, LLC is proposing to pyrolyze tires next to downtown Youngstown. We educated the attendees on the dangers of pyrolysis and how they can help prevent this toxic air polluting plant from locating in our city.
