Our local news outlets informed the citizens of Youngstown about the possible repossession of the mobile steam heating and cooling equipment used by SOBE Thermal Energy Systems, LLC last month. The Wheeling, Illinois company Wabash repossessed their mobile steam plant on Tuesday, September 30, 2025, after agreeing to wait 30 days for the city of Youngstown to come up with a plan B on how to provide steam heating and cooling to over a dozen residents and businesses in downtown Youngstown.
Currently, Youngstown State University is using one of its three boilers to provide temporarily the steam heating and cooling to those residents and businesses in downtown.
